Description
This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. It is neither a solicitation announcement nor a request for proposals or quotes and shall not obligate the Government to award a contract. The purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is for market research to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources interested and capable of performing the work and obtain their size classification (Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, Veteran Owned Small Business, 8(a), HubZone, Women Owned Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, etc.) relative to the North American Classification System (NAICS) Code 621111 with a size standard of $10 Million. The Miami Veterans Affairs Healthcare System MVAHS (Miami, FL) is seeking potential 2.5 FTE physician sources for liver and kidney transplant surgery onsite at the MVAHS. Duties include clinics and surgical procedures, on-call coverage, section chief responsibilities for liver, kidney and chief of the transplant program. Contractor shall provide training and education from the MVAHS location. Services performed under the resultant contract shall be provided by the contractor employees. 1. Transplant physician coverage shall be provided 24 hours, 7 days a week including government holidays. 2. Contractor shall provide and or assist with specialty and sub-specialty surgery at the request of the VA attending physician. 3. Contractor shall ensure the attending physicians provide educational training sessions for the Transplant Surgery section, nurses and technicians. 4. Contractor shall perform inpatient and outpatient consultations as requested. 5. Contractor shall provide training, supervision and related clinical services as requested by the MVAHS. 6. Contract physicians shall contribute to the ongoing performance improvement programs at the MVAHS. 7. The academic level of sub-specialty attending physician shall be from Assistant Professor to Professor. 8. Contractor and Physicians shall have all licenses, permits, accreditation and certificates required by law. Physicians assigned by the contractor to perform these services covered under this contract shall be licensed in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States. Contractor shall be subject to Federal Laws, regulations, standards, VA policies and Information Security. Potential sources should identify business name, point of contact, business size and any applicable business socio-economic category (i.e. small business, SDVOSB, VOSB, SB, etc), service capability statement, information for recent and relevant projects similar in nature, DUNS number, address and any additional information felt to be pertinent. Responses to this synopsis will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this Sources Sought Announcement, a solicitation announcement may be published at www.fbo.gov website. Responses to this Sources Sought Announcement are not considered adequate responses to any solicitation announcement that may result from this notice. All interested offerors will have to respond to the solicitation announcement in addition to responding to this Sources Sought Announcement. Written responses to this notice shall be electronically mailed in PDF format or word format to Nicholas.Milone@va.gov. Telephone and or mailed responses will not be accepted. Responses must be received no later than 1:00 PM (EST), December 4th, 2012. This notice is to assist the VA in determining sources only. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced separately from the responses to this announcement.
