- Description The Department of Veteran Affairs, Huntington VA Medical Center (VAMC), Huntington, WV, intends to award an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity Firm Fixed Price contract for Radiation/Oncology Therapy services. Personnel assigned by the Contractor to perform services covered by this contract shall be Board Certified in Radiation Oncology and a Board Certified Radiation Physicist. Contractor shall provide outpatient professional and technical radiation therapy services at their facility for Veterans as well as providing the materials, supplies, equipment and qualified supervision. Comprehensive radiation therapy would include, but not be limited to, the initial evaluation, treatment plan, simulation, medical radiation physics, dosimetry, treatment devices, special services, clinical treatment management, and a review of pertinent x-rays and laboratory results as well as the patient's medical record to include follow-up care associated with the course of treatment. The treatment plan shall include the type of radiation to be administered, the site, the dosages, frequency, the treatment dates and the follow-up examination date(s). All Radiation Oncology Programs are mandated to be accredited by the Radiation Oncology Practice Accreditation (ROPA) of American College of Radiology (ACR) and participate in remote dosimetry audit by the Radiological Physics Center (RPC). All contractors for offsite services shall be ACR accredited to ensure our Veterans receive the same high quality and safe radiation therapy treatment as they would in-house. In lieu of ACR accreditation, the VA will approve contractors that are National Cancer Institute (NCI) comprehensive cancer centers or designated cancer centers who offer an additional bonus to our Veterans participating in clinical trials. The contract period will be a base period (Contract Award - September 30, 2013) and four (4) one (1) year option periods.
