Description
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Protective Service (FPS), East Consolidated Contracts Group intends to procure armed protective service officer services for the following locations: (1) Veterans Administration, 810 Vermont Avenue NW (2) Lafayette Building, 811 Vermont Avenue NW (3) Veterans Affairs, 1120 Vermont Avenue NW (4) Veterans Affairs, 1722 Eye Street NW (5) Northwestern Building, 1800 G Street NW As an integral part of this security effort, the contractor shall provide and maintain all management, supervision, manpower, training, equipment, supplies, licenses, permits, certificates, insurance, pre-employment screenings, reports, and files necessary to accomplish the requirement. The issuance of the Request for Proposal (RFP) will result in a requirements type contract with firm fixed monthly amounts and will be issued under the authority listed in Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 12, Commercial Items, on an unrestricted basis. Total guard hours are estimated at approximately 218,000 per year. The RFP shall require offerors to submit a technical proposal, as well as a price proposal. The technical proposal will be considered significantly more important than the price proposal. It is anticipated that the subject RFP will be issued on the FedBizOpps (FBO) website on or before December 17, 2012. It is the contractor's responsibility to monitor the website for the issuance of the RFP, as well as any amendments. All contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/.
