- Sources Sought Only. The Veterans Medical Center Richmond, VA is seeking potential sources capable of furnishing all personnel, labor, equipment, and supplies necessary to provide Medical Waste Disposal Services / Reusable Sharps Containers management for Hunter Holmes McGuire Veterans Affairs Medical Center, 1201 Broad Rock Blvd, Richmond VA 23249. Medical Waste Disposal Services: Contractor is to supply all bags, tags, waste carts and associated material for packaging and transport of all medical waste. The items must meet all federal, state, OSHA and DOT standards for collection, storage and transport of medical waste. Carts must have wheels and be in good repair at all times. Carts must be labeled as medical waste carts. The estimated annual poundage of medical waste produced by the medical center is between 19,000 and 22,000 pounds. Waste pick-up will be provided once per a week from the hospital's designated waste holding area. The day for pick-up will be Friday between 6:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Reusable Sharps Containers: Contractor shall furnish all permits, services, materials, labor, supervision, managements, management support, transportation, supplies, and equipment required to provide a reusable medical sharps container management program. The Contractor is responsible for delivering clean reusable sharps containers to a designated receiving location and exchanging them for used/full reusable sharps containers that have been collected from point of use by VAMC Richmond staff. The current total sharps container count at the Richmond VAMC to include the Fredericksburg, Charlottesville and Emporia CBOC is 744. Available in various sizes dependent upon need (2, 4, and 8 Gallon). Contract Performance Period will be a Base + 4 Option periods, starting from date of award through September 31, 2017. The Applicable NAICS code is 562112 with a Size Standard of $12.5M. This Sources Sought Notice is not a request for formal proposals or quotes. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. Please provide a Capability Statement to this sources sought notice to include the following: name and address of company; business size (large or small); identify whether or not your firm falls into any of the following socioeconomic categories - 8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran-Owned; firm's experience in providing Reusable Sharps Containers / Medical Waste Disposal Services. Provide a brief description of qualifications and any other pertinent information, which demonstrates ability to meet the above requirement.
