- Verification of Degree Application Form Evaluation Criteria List of qualifications Statement of Work This is a combined Synopsis/Solicitation. Peace Corps seeks a Physician with independent practice experience to serve as a Peace Corps Regional Medical Officer (RMO) in Bangkok, Thailand. Peace Corps RSOs are paid contractors who (among other responsibilities) provide medical and administrative support to Peace Corps Medical Contractors (PCMCs) at sub-regional posts and provide medical consultative services to Peace Corps Volunteers/Trainees (PCVs/PCTs) and Peace Corps Response Volunteers though the PCMC at sub regional posts. Peace Corps requires that RMO applicants have and maintain a current, active MD license. All practitioners must maintain their national certifications during the entire contact period. Applicants with overseas work experience will be most competitive. See the attached Statement of Work for a complete description of responsibilities. Required qualifications Peace Corps (PC) seeks licensed physician to serve as Peace Corps Regional Medical Officer (RMO) in Bangkok, Thailand See attached statement of work for complete description of responsibilities. * Currently licensed physician * Minimum five years recent, relevant primary care experience * Willing to travel extensively within a sub region * A background security investigation will be required. The contract award will be subject to the contractor's successful completion of a background security investigation and favorable adjudication prior to award * No unfavorable actions related to medical malpractice, state license, clinical privileges, etc in National Practitioner Data Bank. * Contractors must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration to be awarded a Federal Government contract. Registration can be accomplished at www.ccr.gov Desired qualifications: Previous PCMO experience Professional fluency in English Materials that must be submitted: Application form (Form attached) Current resume Three letters of professional reference Copies of current professional licenses and certifications Application Requirements: 1. (Form attached) Competitive evaluation of applicants will be based on the following criteria: EVALUATION CRITERIA FOR PEACE CORPS REGIONAL MEDICAL OFFICER (RMO) Bangkok, Thailand Peace Corps requires that RMO applicants have and maintain a current, active MD license. Minimum five years recent, relevant primary care experience 2. Independent practice experience 3. Demonstrated ability to travel and live under difficult conditions and to work effectively in a cross- cultural environment 4. Training and experience in trauma care 5. Knowledge of endemic diseases and health hazards in developing countries 6. Counseling experience and ability 7. Potential impact to Peace Corps health system 8. Peace Corps Medical Officer experience 9. Experience providing preventive health education and training to non-medical personnel 10. Experience managing and administering health care systems, clinics, or out-patient programs 11. Verbal communication skills
