- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is currently planning the release of a final Screening Information Request (SIR) early in the second quarter FY2013 for satellite space segment (e.g. transponder bandwidth) for the Alaskan Satellite Telecommunications Infrastructure (ASTI), formerly Alaskan NAS Inter-facility Communications System (ANICS). The ASTI program provides inter-facility communications to primarily support the FAA Air Traffic Control (ATC) mission between remote and hub facilities located in Alaska; with additional remote locations in Seattle (ZSE) WA, Oklahoma City (OKC) OK, and Anadyr (DYR) Russia. The FAA intends to issue a single contract from that SIR. In advance of the final SIR release the FAA is posting this draft SIR for Industry information and comment. The FAA is requesting potential offerors who are interested in pursuing this opportunity in a prime contractor capacity to submit a notice of intent to the contracting officer listed below. A notice of intent is requested whether or not comments to the draft SIR are provided to the FAA. Any SIR requirements that drive costs All interested parties must submit their comments and notice of intent to Whitney Coleman-Clark at whitney.coleman-clark@faa.gov by 3:00PM EST on December 20, 2012.
