Description

SOLICITATION FOR HORSE BOARDING This project is for boarding four (4) horses year round. From June 1 through September 30 the horses shall have their own pasture and be segregated from all other horses. The pasture should shall be within a five miles radius (~5 miles) of the Forest Service office located at 925 Weiss Drive, Steamboat Springs, Colorado and be easily accessible for a truck and horse trailer. The pasture shall have a reliable source of fresh water supply and shall be securely fenced and free of any objects, (i.e. boards with nails or junk piles) which may injure the animals. During the winter months October through May, the horses shall be fed daily and provided with high quality grass or alfalfa/grass mixed hay. The horsed do not need to be segregated from other horses during the winter months. The horses shall have some form of shelter, at a minimum a wind break consisting of a three sided pole barn. The district shall provide any additional supplemental feed if needed. At this time, -Equine feed for the two (2) Senior horses is being provided during the months of October through May. The supplement shall be given during the daily feeding interval. The Forest Service shall provide salt and mineral supplements on a yearly basis.
