- This is a Request for Information (RFI) on a Cell Saver Technician. Funding is not available for any information or proposals submitted. Submitting information does not bind the Air Force for any future contracts/grants resulting from this RFI. The findings from this Market Research effort may impact any future solicitations related to this requirement. This Market Research is not a solicitation as defined by FAR 2.101, and the Government is not requesting offers or proposals at this time. Any responses to this RFI Request for Information received by the Government will not be accepted to form a binding contract. This is a Request for Information and does not constitute a solicitation or request for proposal. This is a market survey for planning purposes and no award will be made as a result of this sources sought notice. If a solicitation is issued, the Government does not guarantee that it will be issued to RFI respondents. The Government is also requesting that restrictive or proprietary markings not be used in response to the RFI. The Government is looking for a Cell Saver Technician that, at a minimum, can perform the following: • Run Haemonetics Cell Saver 5+ Autologous Blood Recovery System during surgical cases/procedures requiring this intervention. • The technician will arrive at a prearranged time for scheduled operating room cases and will arrive within 30 minutes after notice for emergency cases. • The technician will assemble all needed supplies and medication prior to auto transfusion set-up and inspect the cell saving mechine for mechanical defects. • The technician shall be compliant with all Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) rules and regulations. The technician shall also follow all HIPAA guidelines for physical and electronic safeguarding of information. • Minimum qualifications are listed below: o Must have completed training required by manufacturer to successfully run Cell Saver equipment o Must be able to perform quality indicators as determined by blood bank for each patient o Must be able to perform and be familiar with duties required to be in compliance with MOFMC OI's. The volume, demand, and usage of the service varies by patient need based on physician assessment. An estimated 20 cases per year. No telephonic submissions will be honored. All product information shall be submitted at no cost or obligation to the government.
