Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Eastern Virginia medical School (EVMS) for Standardized Patient Training Services at various locations in support of VISN 6. NAICS codes are still being determined at this time. However, 611430- Professional and Management Development Training or 611699- All Other Miscellaneous Schools and Instruction may be applicable to this procurement. The Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement. Contract will be awarded for a base and four one-year renewable option periods. This notice of intent is not a request for quotations. Interested parties that believe they can meet these needs must supply information about their capabilities by no later than 21 December 2012, 4:30 p.m. (est). All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. No solicitation will be made available. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The anticipated award date is 15 February 2013. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Written inquiries only, and telephone or faxed inquiries will not be accepted. Submit your questions by no later than (NLT) Wednesday 19 Dec 2012, 4:30pm. Attachment 1: Overall Objective: To refine, apply and practice diagnosis, management, and treatment skills for Obstetrical emergencies at various VA Medical Centers. Instructional Objectives: Upon successful completion of the sessions, participants will be better prepared for Obstetrical emergencies in the Emergency Department. These overall skills include diagnosing, managing, and treating complications during various stages of labor and delivery. While team training will not be the main focus of the course, key concepts will be delivered and reinforced. WORKSHOPS & FORMAT: Workshop: Diagnosis and Management of Obstetrical Emergencies Topic-focused didactic discussions facilitated by faculty will be conducted to address core concepts and guidelines. The didactic information sessions will focus on the following topics: "Normal and Precipitous Delivery "Shoulder Dystocia "Breech Delivery "Post-Partum Hemorrhage Following the information sessions participants will be given the opportunity to rotate through four stations concentrating on different skills addressed in the didactic discussions. Station 1: Interactive scenarios with an obstetric simulator will be presented to allow participants to apply and practice concepts covered in the didactic discussions. The participants will participate in debriefing exercises immediately following each scenario to allow for reflection and discussion. Format: Obstetric simulator scenarios followed by debriefing sessions in breakout groups. Station 2-4: Hands-on practice of procedures and skills discussed in the didactic sessions. Format: Procedural practice with obstetric task trainers in breakout groups. Training will be held at, but not limited to the following locations: Beckley VAMC Asheville VAMC - Salisbury COBC (Includes Franklin and Rutherford staff), Hillandale CBOC - Greenville CBOC - Morehead City CBOC (includes Hillandale, Greenville, Morehead City) Fayetteville VAMC - Wilmington CBOC - Jacksonville CBOC (includes Robeson, Village Green, Brunswick, & Hamlet) Salem VAMC: (Includes Danville, Lynchburg, Tazewell, Staunton and Wytheville) Hampton VAMC Charlottesville COBC Virginia Beach CBOC Emporia CBOC - Fredericksburg CBOC Albemarle COBC: Elizabeth City, NC Richmond VAMC
