Description
THIS NOTICE DOES NOT CONSITUTE AN INVITATION FOR BID OR A REQUEST FOR PORPOSAL (RFP) AND IS NOT A COMMMITMENT BY THE U.S. GOVERNMENT TO ENTER INTO ANY ACQUISITION FOR PRODUCTS OR SERVICES. 1. The purpose of a Sources Sought Notice is to determine if there are two (2) or more capable small businesses that can perform the requirements of a planned contract. For this reason, it is vitally important for Small Businesses to respond to the Sources Sought with a capability statement. The Capability Statement received by the contracting office in response to the Sources Sought Notice may lead to a Small Business set-aside if two (2) or more Small Businesses can be determined by the Government to be capable of performing the tasking. quote mark 2. This is a sources sought notice for acquisition planning purposes and no formal solicitation exists at this time. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District is seeking the availability and capability of sources to perform the following services: 3. Description of Services: a. The Contractor shall have the necessary resources to provide all management, supervision, labor, airboats, skiffs, transportation, equipment, supplies, materials, and quality control necessary to apply liquid herbicidal materials to unwanted aquatic vegetation in any or all of 23 parishes (counties) in south Louisiana. b. The aquatic plant infestations vary from sparse patches of plants to very dense uniform mats. Approximately 95% of the work may involve the control of water hyacinths. The Contractor shall have the necessary resources and capability to perform simultaneous spray operations at multiple locations, involving the use of two spray crews in airboats and/or skiffs. c. Contractor's Equipment. The contractor shall have enough equipment to provide as many as six (6) airboats or six (6) skiffs in order to be capable of performing treatments at six (6) different locations simultaneously, from May through September annually. All boats must be a minimum length of 18 feet. This is a Corps Safety Office requirement. d. Geographical Areas of Responsibility. The Contractor shall perform operations to control unwanted aquatic vegetation at various locations within and around navigable waterways in any or all of following 17 parishes (counties) in south Louisiana: 1)Cameron 2)Calcasieu 3)Jefferson Davis 4)St. Landry 5) Vermilion 6)Jefferson 7)St. Martin 8)Iberia 9)Iberville 10)St. Mary11)Ascension 12)Assumption 13)Terrebonne 14)St. James 15)St. John the Baptist 16)St. Charles and 17) Lafourche 4. INTERESTED FIRMS SHALL FURNISH THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM INFORMATION: a. Name of company b. Telephone number, address and email address c. Brief summary of company history relative to similar requirements d. Statement of capabilities e. Small business standing (i.e. small business, woman-owned, service-disabled veterans, etc.) 5.
