- Description
- Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support (NAVSUP WSS) plans to solicit a Requirements contract for a one-year base period with two one-year option periods. The estimated contract value per year is $3,164,593 (total value if two options exercised: $9,493,779). Anticipated coverage will support repair of three (3) critical safety item (CSI) propeller assembly components (and upgrade of one of the three) for the P-3 Orion Patrol Aircraft; a list of such components has been uploaded with this synopsis as Attachment A. Certain elements of such components have experienced failures that can impact the safety of aircraft and crews. Apart from Navy organic repair capability, the only current Navy-approved repair source is Pacific Propeller International (PPI), located in Kent, Washington. Award is expected on or about 1 April 2013. Only the current Navy-approved source will be solicited. Given supply status/fleet demands, the safety issues referenced above, and the time required for approval of a new source, award cannot be delayed pending approval of a new source. If you are not an approved source you must submit the information detailed in the NAVSUP WSS (Philadelphia) Source Approval Information Brochure for Repair. This brochure identifies technical data required to be submitted based on your company's experience as to the same or similar item, and/or technical data required if this is an item you have never repaired. This brochure can be obtained by calling NAVSUP WSS at (215) 697- 4243 or is available on-line at: https://www.neco.navy.mil/sarr.aspx Requests for source approval will be reviewed by both NAVSUP WSS and the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and may require follow-up communications, site visitation, and a demonstration of capabilities, which activities will be carried out in part at the requesting contractor ™s expense. If a request for source approval has been submitted by your company and is currently being evaluated at the NAVSUP WSS/NAVAIR and you wish to submit an offer, submit with your offer a copy of the cover letter which forwarded your request for source approval.
