Description
The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) intends to issue orders on multiple occasions over the period of a new Basic Ordering Agreement with McNally Industries. Orders will be issued for the procurement of new MK 6 Ammunition Hoists, component overhauls, MK 6 Ammunition Hoists upgrade component sets, services to install upgrade component sets, engineering services efforts to maintain the drawing package and prepare Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and other technical documentation in support of the MK 6 Ammunition Hoist. The MK 6 supports the Aegis Modernization program, Destroyer New Construction, Foreign Military Sales, and general US Navy fleet support. This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) page located at www.eps.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce Online (NECO) site located at www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for the posting of synopsis and solicitations to the Internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use site to access information posted by the Naval Sea Systems Command. Orders will be awarded pursuant to U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. McNally Industries is the sole developer, designer, and current producer of the MK 6 Ammunition Hoist. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact McNally Industries directly. See Numbered Note 22. The proposed contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all proposals received within forty-five days (thirty days if award is issued under an existing basic ordering agreement) after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
