Description
The Department of the Interior (DOI) needs two used, non-turbo (emphasis added), Cessna 206s for the National Park Service (NPS) in Alaska. Cessna models 206G or H are typically the aircraft that will meet the Government's needs. NPS uses Cessna 206s to perform law enforcement patrols; survey, track, and monitor wildlife; survey and monitor vegetative species; manage invasive species; perform scientific studies; perform search and rescue; and detect and monitor wildland fire. DOI plans to issue a solicitation pursuant to FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Part 15, Contracting by Negotiations, for the airplanes. DOI may award a single contract for up to two airplanes or award two contracts each for a single airplane. DOI plans to leave the solicitation open for offers for up to six months but may cancel the solicitation after two aircraft are purchased. DOI also plans to contact entities that have advertised aircraft for sale to inform them that they may submit a proposal under the solicitation. The solicitation should be issued by January 19, 2013. Offers may be submitted until the solicitation expires or is cancelled. This action will be an unrestricted acquisition and not set-aside. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 441228, All Other Motor Vehicle Dealers, and the small business size standard is $30,000,000. The apparent successful offeror(s) must be registered in CCR (www.ccr.gov) in order to be awarded a contract.
