Description

The Aleda E. Lutz VA Medical Center, Saginaw, Michigan, is soliciting and intends to award a firm fixed price contract for Infectious Waste Removal and Sharps Container Recycling Services for the main campus and Health Care Annex, Saginaw, Michigan, Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Alpena, Bad Axe, Cadillac, Cheboygan, Clare, Grayling, Gaylord, Oscoda, and Traverse City, Michigan. NAICS Code 562211, size standard $12.5 Million applies. Contractor shall furnish all necessary labor, waste processing, equipment, supplies, packaging, transportation, manifests, and reports necessary to remove and dispose of by incineration, infectious and cytotoxic waste from time of award through September 30, 2013 with four (4) one year option years. The contractor shall also provide all necessary labor, waste processing, equipment, supplies, packaging, transportation, manifests, and reports necessary to furnish sharps container recycling services at the same locations. General: The Contractor shall provide all labor/personnel, waste processing, equipment, supplies, packaging, manifests, and transportation services necessary for the disposal of the waste in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations, specifically Chapter 333 - MI public Health Code Part 138, and all terms and conditions of the contract. All red-bagged items, regardless of their condition, are being discarded by the Government and are considered to be infectious waste. This procurement has been set-aside 100% for award to Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Concerns (SDVOSB). Offers from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered and shall be rejected. Solicitation packages will be available on or about January 31, 2013.
