Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation F13PS00213 issued by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Region 3 for commercial item prepared in accordance with the format in the FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This is issued as a Request for Quotations (RFQ) and incorporated provisions and clauses that are in effect through FAC2005-65. This Request for Quote is 100% set aside for small business The NAICS Code is 561730 with a small business size standard of: $6.5 million. The services consist of 5 areas on the Lee Unit of the Glacial Ridge National Wildlife Refuge, Erskine, MN which requires the digging out and piling of all trees and brush. It is anticipated that a bulldozer/excavator or equivalent will be used to grub out trees and brush including the root system within each area. All parts of the grubbed out tree and brush shall be pushed into no more than two piles per unit. Location of piles will be on the perimeter of each unit, positioned at the contractors discretion unless otherwise indicated by Refuge staff. Piles shall be compacted with minimal dirt being pushed into piles to facilitate effective burning by refuge staff. Upon completion of the removal of trees and brush, each unit will leveled off/disced to fill in all tree and brush holes and ruts made by equipment. A sensitive fen site lies adjacent to the areas, (see map for location), no travel, debris or equipment is allowed in this fen site. Specifications: All trees and brush, including root system dug out and piled, No more than two piles per area, Minimal dirt pushed into plies and areas leveled/disced to fill in holes and equipment rut marks.
