- Description
- U. S. Army Medical Research and Material Command (USAMRMC) seeks to identify individuals or organizations, domestic or foreign, interested in partnering with USAMRMC in the development of bacteriophages as U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved medical therapeutic products for human clinical indications. In particular, USAMRMC would like to hear from entities interested in bacteriophages as treatments for the following infections: skin and soft tissue infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus; and bacterial diarrhea. USAMRMC believes that a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) would be a suitable framework for the establishment of a partnering relationship. While USAMRMC cannot supply funding under a CRADA, USAMRMC resources (facilities, materiel, and labor) can be used to support the manufacturing and testing efforts needed for medical product development. To respond to this Request for Information (RFI), e-mail a brief (no more than 5 pages) statement of interest to shannyn.scassero@amedd.army.mil. This statement of interest should (1) identify the bacteriophage(s) you believe are suitable for development of medical products; (2) describe in general terms the manufacturing process for the bacteriophage(s) preparations; (3) present a summary of the results of relevant nonclinical and clinical studies bearing on product safety and efficacy; (4) state any interest you have as an inventor or owner of an invention, or holder of any other type of interest that permits you to exploit, or prevent others from exploiting, relevant technologies; and (5) outline your concept for development of bacteriophages as products approved for marketing by the FDA. USAMRMC will evaluate your statement of interest and maintain it as trade secrets and/or confidential business information. If it appears to USAMRMC that further communications are warranted, USAMRMC will contact you. This RFI does not commit the Government to acquire supplies or services or award any type of contracting vehicle to include assistance agreements.
