Description
NOTE: This is a synopsis, plans and specification are not available at this time; therefore no questions of a technical or contractual nature will be accepted until the solicitation is issued. Information contained in this synopsis is subject to change. Any changes made will be contained in the solicitation or by an amendment. This solicitation is anticipated to issue as an Invitation For Bid (IFB) resulting in the award of a single firm fixed price (FFP) contract. The solicitation will issue on or about 07 March 2013, and the anticipated bid opening date is 09 April 2013. The estimated value of this work is between $1,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. NAICS Code: 237990. The work consists of repairing a section of the dune on the western end of Grand Isle and, subsequently, armoring the repair reach with stone. Repair requires geotextile tube installation, sand backfill, placement of separator geotextiles, and stone placement along the shoreline of the Gulf of Mexico. All materials must be delivered by barge to Caminada Pass and lifted over the west jetty to a staging area. Movement of materials along the shoreline will be performed with off-road vehicles. Repair location, staging area, and access corridor is subject to both tidal and wave action. Incidental work includes dune planting and sand fence installation. The duration for this project is one-hundred (100) days. The Government will not provide written paper copies of the solicitation.
