- Synopsis: SON OF BEAR VALLEY STEWARDSHIP Description of Work- This solicitation and any resultant contract is a stewardship project in accordance with Section 323 of Public Law 108-7 (16 U.S.C. 2104 Note, as revised February 28, 2003 to reflect sec. 323 of J.J. Res. 2 as enrolled), the Consolidated Appropriations Resolution, 2003, amending Public Law 105-277, sec. 347. This is a commercial item acquisition that has been tailored to fit the Government's method of trading goods for services. Work includes chipping, vegetation removal, dust abatement, blading, waterbar construction, and rolling dip construction. Project Location - The sale is located approximately 21 miles east of Nevada City, CA, off of Highway 20 on the FS Road 20-16-2 and is located in portions of sections 24, and 25, T17N.; R11E.; M.D.M. The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) under the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act (MSPA) may require the contractor or subcontractor performing labor intensive work, such as chainsaw work, to be registered with the (DOL) as a Farm Labor Contractor. The Contractor shall provide a copy of either their current Form WH510 (Farm Labor Contractor Registration Card), if proposed to be done by contractor's employees, or that of their proposed subcontractor(s) whose employees will be doing the labor intensive work. Contractors with questions on the WH510 requirements may contact the U.S. DOL at 415-625-7687(non-California contractors will be referred to their area representative), or view the website (http://www.dol.gov/whd/mspa/index.htm). When calling DOL, please reference "H2B of the Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act" when calling DOL. "H2B" refers to forestry-related labor intensive work subject to the Act and performed on federal contracts. The estimated solicitation issue date is March 19, 2013. However, it may be uploaded at a later date. So, please monitor the website starting March 19th. There is no need to notify our office if it is not uploaded on that date. Our office does not send out hardcopy solicitation documents. Please download from the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov).
