Description

The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) intends to make a sole source award to Steptoe and Johnson LLP 1330 Connecticut Ave NW Washington DC 20036-1975. This is a continuation of services. The contractor shall continue providing Outside Legal Counsel Services in regard to the completion of the PBGC vs. Collins settlement. The contractor shall provide advice and Counsel in matters pertaining to the settlement. Steptoe and Johnson have served as PBGC's counsel throughout the pendency of this case. PBGC continues to require the firm's assistance and specialized expertise and knowledge of this complex case. PBGC will need Steptoe and Johnson in the continued negotiations and, in the event these negotiations fail to resolve and close the settlement, future litigation with the plaintiffs. The contract action is being sought under the FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Period of Performance is a Base Period of May 1, 2013 through April 30, 2014, and Two (2) Option Periods, May 1, 2014 through April 30, 2015, and May 1, 2015 through April 30, 2016. This is not a request for proposals but a Notice of Intent. No solicitation will be issued. Interested parties may, however, request further information (no later than no later than 11:00 AM Eastern Standard Time, on April 2, 2013) by email to the Contracting Officer, Mark Miller at miller.mark@pbgc.gov.
