- Description
- NASA/MSFC has a requirement for Fieldview software renewal and maintenance for the period of May 1, 2013 to April 30, 2014. Support includes: telephone support, e-mail, bug fixes, updates, and new releases. NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Intelligent Light for the following reasons: (1) Intelligent Light is the developer and distributor to NASA/MSFC of the proprietary software that has been in existence at Marshall Space Flight Center for a minimum of ten (10) years and the only means for providing the Fieldview Software support and maintenance. (2) Compatibility is essential without interruption as the software is embedded and utilized as the common tool for NASA/MSFC Civil Servants and Contractors. (3) Market research shows that Intelligent Light is the only manufacturer of the Fieldview Software which is software used for post-processing CFD solutions and that there is no other known product that performs the same functionality as Fieldview. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 4:30 p.m. local time on 04/17/2013.Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.
