- The Military Sealift Command Ship Support Unit San Diego (MSC SSU SD) will be issuing an RFP for the below work to be completed aboard USNS MERCY (T-AH 19). Anticipated period of performance (POP) dates are 28 April - 18 May 2013. Issuance of RFP is anticipated on/about 15 April 2013, with a tentative submission due date of 19 April 2013. Award is tentatively scheduled to be made on/about 22 April 2013. Interested contractors are requested to email the contracting officer and provide the following information: DUNS Number CAGE Code Business size under NAICS Code 811213 Note: All interested contractors MUST be registered in SAM (https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM ) and have current REPS & CERTS noted in their company profiles. 1.0 ABSTRACT This work item describes the requirement s for the Contractor to repair and make modifications to extend the Wireless Radio and Paging System coverage to the Auxiliary Machinery Room Switchboard Room (5-84-2). 2.0 REFERENCES/ENCLOSURES: None 3.0 ITEM LOCATION/DESCRIPTION/QUANTITY: Refer to paragraph 7.0 4.0 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT/MATERIALS: None 5.0 NOTES 5.1 The Contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier must consult the General Technical Requirements (GTR) to determine applicability to this work item. In performance of this work item, the contractor and all subcontractors regardless of tier must comply with the requirements of all applicable GTR's including but not limited to GTR's 1 through 7, 22, 23, 24, 28 and 29. 5.2 The Contractor and all subcontractors, regardless of tier are advised to review other work items under this contract to determine their effects on the work required under this item. 6.0 QUALITY ASSURANCE REQUIREMENTS 6.1 The contractor shall accomplish this work in accordance with the references identified in 2.0. 6.2 All Inspections and tests shall be performed in the presence of contractor's representative and MSCREP. 7.0 STATEMENT OF WORK REQUIRED 7.1 The Contractor to provide labor, materials, tools, equipment, staging and the services of qualified electronics contractor to accomplish this work specification item. 7.2 The Contractor to repair and make modifications to extend the wireless coverage to the Auxiliary Machinery Room Switchboard Room (5-84-2). Modifications and repairs may be required but are not limited to the following: 7.2.1 Install Aft Antenna. • Locate existing Radiax cable run on Man Deck or 01 Level. • Install a power divider • Install a new non-radiating coax cable to the new external antenna location on the Aft House Deck Area • Install a new Omni Antenna • Install a new antenna mount • Install a coaxial switch to turn disconnect the external Aft antenna • Dress and secure new cable • Label antenna and line 7.2.2 Install cable and antenna termination in the Auxiliary Machinery Room Switchboard Room (5-84-2). • Locate existing Radiax Cable Run on Level 5 • Install a power divider • Install a non-radiating coax cable to location • Install a Low Profile External Antenna UHF Omni • Install a new antenna mount • Dress and secure new cable • Label antenna and line 7.2.3 Forward External Antenna On/Off Switch • Install a coaxial switch to disconnect the external forward antenna (existing). 7.3. Checkpoint: After completing the modifications and/or repairs in paragraph 7.1 and 7.2, a system operation and verification testing (SOVT) shall be perform to ensure full and complete functional operation. SOVT shall be witnessed by the Chief Engineer and/or MSCREP.. 7.4 Provide "as released condition report" to the MSCREP delineating all work accomplished including parts replaced and recommendations for improvement. 7.4 Manufacturers Representative/Recommended Source: 7.4.1 The contractor shall employ the services of a qualified Electronic Communication Systems to accomplish this work item.
