Description
1- What is the kWh demand for the installations, are there interconnection points for distributed generating assets or are we starting from scratch, size of buildings and age of roofs? 2- Also for Crane do they actively harvest wood from the base now. What type of power plants are in place on the base and are any of them still use coal or fuel oil fired boilers? The estimated available roof-space potential for PV based on a previous third party assessment is NAVSTA Great Lakes 1.17M sq.ft., NSA Crane 1.0M sq.ft., and Mid-South 830k sq.ft. Building profiles and Energy loads: We are not providing this level of detail for the RFI, but the primary missions are: Great Lakes is recruit training, Crane is industrial complexes, and MidSouth is primarily office space. That should give the contractor a general idea of energy loads. The forests located on NSA Crane are protected assets, specifically designated to supply the restoration of historic Naval Ships. NSA Crane generates steam within the fence-line, using natural gas as the energy source. We have more than one steam generation plant. The industrial operations are broken up into clusters located throughout the base. Many of the clusters have legacy steam plants with steam distribution systems. The response we are looking for should be high level.
