- Description
- The Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) is seeking sources of potential technologies, processes, and capabilities supporting post-detonation National Technical Nuclear Forensics (NTNF). The DTRA post-detonation NTNF R&D program will provide the US Government with an integrated and improved capability to conduct nuclear forensics rapidly in support of the overall national effort to attribute an act of terrorism from the use of nuclear weapons to perpetrators. The focus of this RFI is two-fold: 1) prompt signal collection/analysis and 2) the isotopic characterization of weapon outputs, traditionally accomplished through the analysis of fallout debris. While debris/gas collection strategies that enhance the speed or accuracy of analysis capabilities are of interest, technologies associated with the robotic collection of solid samples are NOT requested in this information call.
