- This is a Request for Information in accordance w ith FAR 15.201 (e). The U.S. Government does not presently intend to award a contract, but to obtai n information for planning purposes. Background: The U.S. Government Missile Defen se Agency (MDA), under an international project agreement, is working a joint program with the Israel Missile Defense Organization (IMDO) to develop an exo-atmospheric interceptor for Israel Air Force use to defend Israel against ballistic missiles. Concept: The MDA i s cond u cting a market survey to establish a list of capable vendors that can produce specific booster components. The MDA will share the re s ponses to thi s s ur vey with the IMDO to support their planning and acquisition of the interceptor. The specific components of the booster that this RFI pertains to are Carbon-Carbon Material and Research Department Explosive (RDX), also known as cyclotrimethylene-trinitramine. The required amount of Carbon-Carbon material is estimated to be 42 pieces, each with a dimension of 195mm in diameter and 181mm in length. The amount of RDX required is 12,600 kg. Respondents only need to be able to supply one of these components. Requested responses: R es pondents are requested to provide a capability statement defining their ability to produce the requested components, a schedule, and rough cost estimates. The capability statement should include examples of previous production, for whom they were made and when they were delivered, and a description of past supplier activities with Israel or other foreign countries or contractors, to include existing export licenses or ability to obtain an export license. All re spo nses are to be in.pdf electronic format only, 8.5 inch X 11 inch pages or 11 inch X 17 inch foldout s, u s ing T im es New Roman 12 pt font, with o ne inch margins on top, bottom, and sides and no more than 3 pages in length.
