- Description
- Sandia National Laboratories, a government-owned/contractor-operated entity, is seeking one or more business partners including but not limited to the application, development, and licensing of the Modified Normandy Barrier (MNB). Sandia is seeking a company or companies to cooperatively develop and commercially license the technology described in this posting. Commercial licensees will have the opportunity to obtain a license to the intellectual properties for reasonable compensation (Patent # 8,210,767, Vehicle Barrier with Access Delay, issued July 03, 2012. [SD# 11111.0]. Inventors: Jason Wilke and David Swahlan). It is expected that the company/companies that work with Sandia to develop the Modified Normandy Barrier (MNB) will incorporate it into a commercial product. MNB Description: Sandia National Laboratories Active Response & Denial Department has developed a cost effective and robust vehicle barrier - designated the Modified Normandy Barrier (MNB) - that has been designed and tested to meet a very aggressive vehicle impact. The Modified Normandy Barrier is intended to offer a lower-cost, high performance vehicle barrier that provides more than just vehicle protection -- MNB includes key design features which address breaching attacks as well. Please visit MNB's webpage for a complete description, including videos of simulated and actual tests: https://ip.sandia.gov/technology.do/techID=119 Potential partners must provide Sandia information describing their ability to research, design, develop, distribute, and market the Modified Normandy Barrier (MNB) technology. The technology to be supplied by Sandia includes: engineering drawings and design information to fabricate a robust vehicle barrier whose installation can be configured to achieve varying cost/performance levels, up to M50-P1, while also including proprietary technology which renders the barrier difficult to breach. To express interest in this opportunity, please respond by mail to Jill Micheau at Sandia National Laboratories, MS 9004, 7011 East Avenue, Livermore, CA 94550, email jmmiche@sandia.gov, phone: 925.294.3672. Please indicate the date and title of the FBO notice. Include company and contact information as well as a description of how your company meets Sandia's criteria and could best contribute to the formation of a CRADA or license and subsequent commercialization of this technology. Sandia National Laboratories is a multi-program laboratory managed and operated by Sandia Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of Lockheed Martin Corporation, for the U.S. Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security Administration under contract DE-AC04-94AL85000.
