- Description
- The purpose of this requirement is to obtain the operation and maintenance of hardware and software on U.S. Navy owned telephone switching system located at the U.S. Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy. U.S. Naval Computer and Telecommunication Station Sicily. The management and monitoring system includes diverse telephone switching equipment, switch and inter site Navy owned trunks and associated peripheral systems including Cable Distribution Frames at all switch locations, Close Telephone network, Fiber Optic cables and Fiber Optic multiplex system, copper cables,Voice Mail systems, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), rectifiers, inverters, batteries, and a centralized billing system. The fiber optic system requirements include fiber optic multiplexing equipment configured with telephone and data channels. The contractor will also operate and maintain a fiber optic network monitoring system. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a Request for Proposal or a promise to issue a Request for Proposal in the future. This RFI does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service. Respondents are advised that the U.S. Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in responding to this RFI. All businesses (large and small) are requested to respond to this RFI to assist the government in formulating an acquisition strategy that fairly considers the ability of all businesses to participate in the acquisition, either as prime contractors or as subcontractors. Businesses are also requested to advise of the availability of any existing GSA Schedules or Government-Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) that could be considered to fulfill this requirement. Responses should include descriptions of recent (within the past three years or work that is on-going) and relevant experience (work similar in type and scope) to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, and points of contact with telephone numbers where the responder performed the relevant work. Marketing brochures and/or generic company literature will not be considered. Not addressing all the requested information may result in the Government determining the responder is not capable of performing the scope of work required.
