- Description
- SOLICITATION NUMBER: NB685010-13-03807 AMENDMENT 001 The purpose of the following amendment is to address questions submitted regarding the specifications. The below Q&A is now applicable to the specifications for the sodium heat pipe furnace liners in solicitation NB685010-13-03807. 1. What is the operating temperature range? A sodium heat pipe starts working at 500 °C with a nominal upper limit of 1100 °C. NIST needs to use the heat pipe from 500 °C to 1090 °C. Lifetime goes as a function of temperature and enclosure material. From a safety point of view NIST is converting from Inconel to Haynes for the enclosure material. 2. What is the external diameter? Nominal diameter is 3.5 inches, though a value up to 3.6 inches would be acceptable. 3. Are there any weight restrictions? As long as one person can pick it up.
