- Mandatory Registration Form to complete and submit to register for this event Vendor Collaboration Event Successfully Navigating Alphabet Soup: RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and GWACs Thursday, August 1, 2013 9:00 am - 12:30 pm Constitution Center 400 7th Street SW Washington, DC 20024 United States THIS FREE EVENT IS OPEN TO BUSINESSES WHO COMPLETE THE REGISTRATION FORM AND RECEIVE AN ATTENDANCE CONFIRMATION. Individuals who have not received an e-mail confirmation prior to the event will not be allowed to participate. Please note that NO WALK-INS or NAME SUBSTITUTIONS will be permitted. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC) is hosting a vendor outreach event entitled Successfully Navigating Alphabet Soup to provide technical assistance to small businesses and minority- and women-owned businesses interested in entering or growing their contract opportunities with the federal government. The OCC charters, regulates, and supervises national banks and federal savings associations. The OCC's goal is to ensure federal financial institutions operate in a safe and sound manner and in compliance with laws requiring the fair treatment of customers and fair access to credit and financial products. The OCC's annual procurement expenditures are approximately $140 million. Most of the OCC's contract awards are in the following North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) categories: 541519 (other computer related services); 541611 (administrative management and general management consulting service); 541513 (computer facilities management services); 541310 (architectural services); 524210 (insurance agencies and brokerages); 541512 (computer systems design services); and 518210 (data processing, hosting, and related services). This vendor outreach session ─ Successfully Navigating Alphabet Soup ─ is specifically intended for small businesses and minority- and women-owned businesses to gain basic information about responding to requests for information (RFIs), requests for quotations (RFQs), and requests for proposals (RFPs) as well as utilizing different government contracting vehicles. Federal agencies use different types of contracting vehicles to leverage the government's buying power for goods and services. These include interagency contracts - where one agency uses another agency's contract for its own needs - such as the General Services Administration and the Department of Veterans Affairs multiple award schedule (MAS) contracts; multiagency contracts (MAC) for a wide range of goods and services; and government-wide acquisition contracts (GWAC) for information technology. The OCC utilizes GWACs for the majority of its contracting needs. As an example of GWACs, the National Institute of Health's Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center (NITAAC) is a federal Executive Agent authorized by the Office of Management and Budget to administer three GWACs for information technology procurement. All federal agencies can use CIO-SP3, CIO-SP3 Small Business and ECS III to acquire information technology products, services, and solutions. The agenda for Successfully Navigating Alphabet Soup includes: (1) the importance of responding to RFIs; (2) differences between RFQs and RFPs; (3) how and why the OCC uses GWACs; (4) panel discussion of different types of government contracting vehicles, including a representative from NITAAC and representatives from companies who have experienced success with GWACs and other interagency contracts; and (5) a business-to-business networking session. In order to be eligible to register for this event, please complete the attached registration form. Registration requests that do not contain all of the requested information will not be considered. Please limit registration to no more than 3 attendees per company. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: The registration period opens on June 20, 2013, and closes on July 8, 2013 or when the event reaches capacity. Due to space limitations, there are only 100 registrations available for this event. The FBO notice will be updated when the event reaches capacity. Attendance confirmation, security information, and location details will be sent via e-mail on July 12, 2013. Please note that attendance at this event is for general educational and informational purposes only and will not give attendees a competitive advantage in contracting with the federal agency host. Moreover, participation in this session does not guarantee award of contracts or individual notifications of future opportunities.
