Description

The General Services Administration, Region 2, Public Buildings Service, is seeking to modernize eight elevators (four passenger elevators, one freight elevator, two prisoner elevators and one judge elevator) at the Charles L. Brieant Federal Courthouse, 300 Quarropas St. White Plains, NY 10601. These elevators are experiencing frequent control and drive systems failures and require more intensive servicing of equipment. The modernization of these elevators will meet the current code requirements and will improve the safety, reliability, performance, elevator system's energy efficiency and ride quality for the building's tenants and visitors. The Government will utilize one-phase design-build selection procedures in accordance with FAR 36.3 for this acquisition. Offerors will be requested to provide a design concept for the modernization, and to the maximum extent practicable, incorporate non-proprietary equipment and controls. This will ensure that when the Government subsequently contracts for elevator maintenance services for the modernized elevators, there will be adequate competition. THIS ACQUISITION WILL BE A TOTAL (100%) SMALL BUSINESS SET-ASIDE. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 238290 (Other Building Equipment Contractors) with a size standard of $14.0 Million.
