- Ring Laser Gyroscope - Fiber Optic Gyroscope This is a Sources Sought Notice. This is a request for information only. There is no solicitation available at this time and requests for solicitation will receive no response. This notice is posted for market research only and is conducted for market research to identify potential sources capable of providing items meeting the description below. The 746 Test Squadron (746 TS), Holloman AFB, NM, is looking for potential sources for Ring Laser Gyroscopes (RLGs) and/or Fiber Optic Gyroscopes (FOGs) that can provide instrumentation to support the test of inertial sensors and systems. The 746 TS is seeking information on non-developmental or commercial items only. Salient characteristics are as follows: 1) Scale Factor Linearity; THRESHOLD: 5 ppm (full scale); GOAL: 1 ppm (full scale) 2) SF Stability; THRESHOLD: 5 ppm (30 days); GOAL: 1 ppm (30 days) 3) Bias Stability; THRESHOLD: 0.0035 deg/hr; GOAL: 0.001 deg/hr 4) Angle Random Walk (ARW); THRESHOLD: 0.0035 deg/rt-hr; GOAL: 0.0001 deg/rt-hr 5) Dynamic Range; THRESHOLD; ±1,000 deg/s; GOAL: TBD 6) Output - A) Digital; pulses/deg preferred; GOAL: TBD B) Analog; volts/deg/s acceptable; GOAL: TBD 7) Bandwidth; THRESHOLD: 100 Hz; GOAL : TBD The Air Force has not yet determined the acquisition strategy for this requirement, including set-aside for small business. The North Atlantic Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this action is 334511, Gyroscopes Manufacturing, size standard 750 employees. Firms responding to this notice shall indicate their size status (large, small, small disadvantaged, woman-owned, veteran-owned, HUBZone, etc.) All interested vendors shall submit a capability statement of no more than 10 pages. A cover page shall include company name; address; Point of Contact including phone and e-mail address; and business size status. The statement shall include RLG and/or FOG information in a datasheet format clearly identifying the salient characteristics listed above. Any relevant performance information shall also be included. The Government will neither award a contract solely based on this notice nor will it reimburse vendors for any costs associated with preparing or submitting a response to this posting. This notice does not constitute a Request for Quote (RFQ), Request for Proposal (RFP) or an Invitation for Bid (IFB) nor does this issuance restrict the Government's acquisition approach. The Government reserves the right to reject in whole or part any industry input as a result of this announcement. The Government recognizes that proprietary data may be part of this effort. If so, clearly mark such restricted or proprietary data and present it as an addendum to the non-restricted/non-proprietary information.
