Description
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, intends to initiate an Invitation for Bid (IFB) procurement to obtain a steel barge (120 ft x 30 ft x 8 ft) in support of the Corps' civil works maintenance and construction mission in the Puget Sound and surrounding areas. The barge will be constructed of ABS Grade-A mild steel. The barge's bow and stern shall be raked. The deck shall be designed for 2000 psf loading. Rub rails, 1 inch thick by 9 inches wide rubber similar to UHMWPE, shall be provided. Two pipe bollards with backstays on each end of the barge shall be provided. 14 flush, watertight, 18x24 inch multi bolt manhole type hatches shall be furnished and installed. Six 36 inch kevels, four 8 inch cast steel double bitts with horns, and four open chocks shall be provided and installed. Delivery and final acceptance will be by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Seattle District. Delivery will be to: Hiram M. Chittenden Locks 3015 NW 54th Street Seattle, WA 98107 Period of performance is 120 days for planning and scheduling, followed by 365 days for construction, testing, and delivery. Bonding is required. The Invitation for Bid Number (IFB) W912BU-13-B-0022 is intended to be available on or about July 22, 2013. Hard copies will not be available. No written or fax requests will be accepted. Contractors may download the solicitation (including drawings) and any amendments via the hyperlink to the FedBizOpps website, www.fbo.gov, on (or after) the issue date. The official media of distribution for the IFB is the Web. All amendments to the IFB will be posted to the FedBizOpps website. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the FedBizOpps website in order to access the solicitation. Offeror's are responsible for printing copies of the IFB and any amendments. Bids will be due on, or about August 27, 2013. NAICS code is 336611. All contractors are required to be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) before award as required by DFARS 204.7300. Information on getting registered may be obtained by accessing the SAM website at www.sam.gov. Instructions will be included in the solicitation. Also, firms who receive a Federal contract in excess of $25,000.00 are required by legislation to submit an annual VETS Report on your employment of targeted veterans.
