Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number RFQ-13-4389-09 is issued as a request for quotations and incorporates provisions and clauses that are in effect through FAC 2005-66. The NAICS code applicable to this acquisition is 423490. The small business size standard is 500 employees. This procurement is set aside for small business. USDA-ARS, Dawson, GA 39842 is looking for Robotic Liquid Handling System equal to a Hamilton Microlab Star. List of the important features of the requested Robot: Flexible programming with graphic editor Able to do Normalization of nucleic acid samples in 96-well format Able to set up a variety of PCR protocols including Real-Time PCR in 96-well format 8 independent pipette channels (range 0.5 -1000 uL) Import/export files in various formats (xls, csv, txt, ASCII) Process samples in a sterile (HEPA filter provided) environment Heat plates up to 90°C, and shaking up to 2,400 rpm Non-mechanical ejection of tips to avoid aerosol contamination Modular arm for 4, 8, 12, 16 channels, and 96 head; expandable to two-arms and 384hwell plates 96 channel tip wash station 60 boxes of 96 tips each (~50 uL) 60 boxes of 96 tips each (~300 uL) Various tip Rack carriers One year of extended service contract Option of automated loading of carriers and barcode reading Upgradable deck sizes Estimated is between $100,000 and $125,000. The contractor shall extend to the Government the full coverage of any standard commercial warranty normally offered in a similar commercial sale, provided such warranty is available at no additional cost to the Government. Acceptance of the standard commercial warranty does not waive the Government's rights under the Inspection clause nor does it limit the Governments' rights with regard to the other terms and conditions of this contract. In the event of a conflict, the terms and conditions of the contract shall take precedence over the standard commercial warranty. The contractor shall provide a copy of its standard commercial warranty (if applicable) with its response. Responses are 30 days from the date this notice is published in the FedBizOps by 4:00 PM local time, Aug 5, 2013 at USDA Agricultural Research Service, 2316 Rainwater Rd, Tifton, GA 31794 (or POB 748, Tifton, GA 31793).
