- Description
- The Pediatric Advisor and PMTCT Program Specialist will provide leadership and technical oversight to Health, AIDS, Population and Nutrition office of USAID/Ethiopia in the implementation of neonatal and child health as well as PMTCT programs and create a strong link between PEPFAR and USAID maternal and child health portfolio. The Program Specialist will advise PEPFAR in the areas of contact tracing and linkages with USAID’s Health portfolio that includes maternal and child health, postnatal care for newborns including management of neonatal sepsis, family focus care and linkages to improve quality services to orphans and vulnerable children. Further, the Program Specialist will serve as the focal person for providing oversight in the scale-up of pediatric treatment and care services as well as PMTCT, and collaborate with the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria (GFATM), Clinton HIV/AIDS Initiative (CHAI), World Bank and other donors to support the GOE’s neonatal and child health as well as pediatric HIV/AIDS and PMTCT programs. The Pediatric and PMTCT Advisor will also be a lead participant in the facilitation of relevant networks and partnerships, and work with the GOE to ensure best practices on pediatric ART and PMTCT are utilized by PEPFAR implementing partners. The Pediatric and PMTCT Advisor will be responsible for ensuring that clinical support referral systems are established and maintained between child health and HIV/AIDS programs. S/he will be responsible for assisting the Team achieve its neonatal/child health and PEPFAR targets and Intermediate Results.
