- THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS A SMALL BUSINESS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE REPRESENTING A MARKET SURVEY AND IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL, PROPOSAL ABSTRACTS, QUOTATIONS OR INVITATION FOR BIDS. THE PURPOSE OF THIS SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS IS TO GAIN KNOWLEDGE OF POTENTIAL QUALIFIED SOURCES AND THEIR SIZE CLASSIFICATIONS (HUBZONE 8(a), 8(a), HUBZONE, SMALL BUSINESS, SMALL DISADVANTAGE AND LARGE BUSINESS) RELATIVE TO NAICS CODE 811219. AFTER REVIEW OF THE RESPONSES TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT, A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT WILL BE PUBLISHED IN FEDBIZOPS ON OR ABOUT 01 OCT 13. RESPONSES TO THIS SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ARE NOT ADEQUATE RESPONSES TO THE SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. ALL INTERESTED OFFERORS WILL HAVE TO RESPOND TO THE SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. The North Atlantic Regional Contracting Office, McDonald Army Health Center (MCAHC) is seeking sources for a potential contract to provide inspection, maintenance and repair services of medical instruments (surgical and nonsurgical). Contractor will be responsible for servicing an assortment of medical instruments extending from, but not limited to, Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) to micro instruments that are used in (but not limited to) the following clinics and operating rooms; Orthopedics, General Surgery, Dermatology, and OB/GYN, at McDonald Army Health Center, Fort Eustis, VA 23604. Required services of surgical instruments are as follows but not limited to: inspection, maintenance, repair, cleaning and sharpening of surgical instruments performed in accordance with manufacturer requirements. Provide loaner equipment within stated timeframes, off-site maintenance services, repair obsolete equipment to maximize the life expectancy of equipment, test electrosurgical insulation of scopes/endoscopic instrumentation and repair any items that do not meet minimal manufacture and safety requirements, provide diamond dusting of microsurgical instrumentation, air hose repair, Castroviejo needle holder, specialty locks and springs replacement, laparoscopic rebuilds, continuity testing of bipolar instrumentation and cords, and specific power equipment (Jacobs chucks, orthopedic attachments and bur guards), inspections of back up instruments. Responses to this notice should include company name, address, point of contact, Cage Code, size of busines pursuant to North American Industrial Classificatino System (NAICS) and must respond to the following questions: 1) Is your business a large or small business? 2) What capabilities does your business have in servicing and repairing medical equipment? 3) How do you bill for your services? Is it specific to each repair or service used or does it encompass all services provided? 4) Would repairs and services rendered have any applicable warranties? 5) Would a computerized tracking system for items serviced and repaired be available? 6) Would our company be able to provide in-house training to our personnel on surgical instrument maintenance? 7) Would your company perform leak test certification for surgical personnel? 8) Would your company be able to provide a loaner equipment program for off-site serviced items? 9) Would your company provide an Insulscan Unit for the endoscopy instruments? 10) Would your company provide technicians certified in International Standards Organization (ISO) 9001:2000, 2) International Standards Organization (ISO) 13485:2003 (Medical Devices), and Quality Inspection? 11) Would your company provide a technician certified in and a Member of American Society for Quality (ASQ)? 12) Does your company have experience that successfully covers services for the following clinics and OR's: Orthopedics, General Surgery, Dermatology, and OB/GYN? 13) Would your company provide the following preventative maintenance programs: Power Equipment, Flexible Endoscope, and Surgical Instrument Quality Assurance. This is not a request for proposals and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. Response to this notice shall be e-mailed to the attention of Norma Rehbein no later than close of business 30 Aug 13. This notice is to help in determining potential sources only. No solicitation is currently available. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request to be considered for a contract award. If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced later in the FBO and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. A response to this sources sought synopsis in NOT a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation.
