Description
Contracting Office Address NASA/John F. Kennedy Space Center, OP-ES, Kennedy Space Center, FL 32899 Description NASA/John F. Kennedy Space Center plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for Air Handler Upgrades at Kennedy Space Centers Booster Fabrication Facility (BFF) (Solicitation NNK13477178R) NASA/KSC intends to release a solicitation, on or about August 8, 2013, for the replacement of eleven (11) central station indoor air handling units (AHU)s, including all associated mechanical (piping and ductwork), electrical, and controls work in the KSC Booster Fabrication Facility (BFF) L6-0247. All of these units will be replaced with double walled air handlers with the same capacity and configuration as the existing units. The replacement work requires careful selective demolition and installation in phases to ensure no interruptions of air will occur in serviced areas. The facility will be fully occupied during contract performance. Fire work is required and involves minor modifications of affected heads, selective removal and reinstallation of existing duct smoke detectors, and localized testing of affected components. All work requiring outages will be scheduled and coordinated through the Utility Outage Requests and Connections Request system at the convenience of NASA. The NAICS code for this procurement is 238220 and the small business size standard is $14,000,000. The contract will include a base bid only with a completion date of 396 calendar days after the date the contractor receives the notice to proceed. The total estimated cost of this project is between $1,000,000and $5,000,000. This is a full and open competition and all responsible sources may submit a proposal for consideration by the agency. The solicitation and any related documents, to include specifications and drawings, will be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities Website (https://www.fedbizopps.gov/) and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Services (http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/nais/index.cgi ). Interested firms are responsible for monitoring these sites for the release of the solicitation and any amendments. Prospective offerors are encouraged to register their intent to submit an offer on www.fedbizopps.gov. Search for the solicitation number and then select Add Me To Interested Vendors. All contractual and technical questions must be submitted by email to Robert Glanowski, Contracting Officer, robert.glanowski@nasa.gov. Telephone questions will not be accepted.
