- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS for market research purposes. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. INFORMATION RECEIVED WILL BE USED FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY. The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) is seeking vendors, other than the equipment manufacturer, who can provide a service agreement for the service and maintenance of an existing Ultrax 18 X-ray source, manufactured by Rigaku Americas Corporation., and its associated components, to ensure uninterrupted performance within manufacturers' specifications on a scheduled and as-needed basis. The Ultrax 18 rotating anode X-ray source is owned by the NIST/Materials Measurement Science Division and is housed at the NIST campus in Gaithersburg, MD. The rotating anode assembly of the Rigaku Ultrax 18 X-ray source embodies the technically demanding confluence of high-speed rotation, water cooling, high voltage and high vacuum. Service and maintenance shall include unlimited emergency visits during regular business hours in addition to scheduled preventive maintenance visits. Covered expenses shall include all parts, labor, and travel. The following components shall be covered by the agreement: Qty 1 each Rigaku Ultrax 18 X-ray Source SN: TD405705 All vendors must have access to proprietary knowledge of the equipment - including but not limited to schematics, hardware, software, and parts. Vendors must provide detailed information on their experience and expertise with respect to the above, and any other information considered pertinent to the requirements above to Adam C. Powell, Contract Specialist, National Institute of Standards and Technology, Acquisition Management Division, 100 Bureau Drive, Mail Stop 1640, Gaithersburg, MD 20899-1640. Information submitted must be specific and address each of the above points. Submissions must be received by 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time on August 6, 2013. Original and e-mail submissions are acceptable. Vendors shall identify their business size in accordance with North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code 811219 - Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance; the Small Business Size Standard is $19.0 Million.
