Description

Brand name Justification and Approval OTS -600 Aircrew Dry Undersuits are required by Section 5-4 of NAVAIR 13-1-6.7-2 (Aircrew Personal Protective Equipment Manual). IAW OPNAVINST 3710.7U. The OTS-600 is required life support equipment for AV-8B pilots. Per NAVAIR 13-1-6.7-2 Unauthorized modification to, and deviations from, prescribed life support and survival equipment could create unknown safety hazards. The COMNAVAIRFORINST 4790.2 identifies NAVAIRSYSCOM as the only authority for modification to life support and survival equipment. Market research was conducted and no other brand has been determined to meet the standards of life support and survival equipmenet listed in NAVAIR 13-1-6.7-2.
