Description
This Notice is published for informational purposes and not as a request for competitive proposals. The Government Printing Office (GPO) intends to issue a sole source contract with MMAR 6.302-1 to Michael Maher, that has in-depth knowledge of the processes in identifying and removing 4-digit SSN's from the Senate portion of the online Congressional Record, 1997-2008. In 1997, GPO was directed, by the Office of the Secretary of the Senate to remove full SSNs from the Senate portion of the online Congressiional Record; they were used to identify military nominations. The purpose was a standard practice in the late 1960s to 1997. In 2008, GPO was authorized by the JCP to remove full SSNs, whereever they appear for all online congressional publications. The Department of Defense policy states, exposure of the final 4 digits of SSNs exposes an individual to identify theft and, therefore is personally identifiable information (PII) that should not be published. The Office of the Secretary of the Senate has approved the removal of 4-digit SSN's from where they currently appear in the Senate portion of the online Congressional Record for all years during the period of 1997-2008. This requirement will be classified NAICS 561990. No solicitation document is available. Interested persons may respond to this requirement by 10 a.m Eastern Standard Time, August 21, 2013.
