- Notice of intent to award sole source procurement under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (FAR 13) and Other Than Full and Open Competition (FAR 6.302-1). This notice is for information only; a solicitation will not be issued. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. No contract will be awarded on the basis of offers received in response to this notice. The associated North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334512 In accordance with FAR 6.302-1, the General Services Administration (GSA) intends to negotiate a sole source contract to install lighting controls that are compatible with the existing JCI Metasys automatic controls system at the 911 Federal Building in Portland OR. The Government believes Johnson Controls, Inc. (JCI) is the only source that will satisfy the agency requirements. The Government is contracting for this service from which JCI Inc. is the only known source. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, any firm that believes that it can provide the requirement above may give written notification to the Contracting Office. All inquiries and concerns must be sent by email to Jeanne.cassidy@gsa.gov. Responses to this notice must be submitted by the date/time listed on the notice. Interested sources may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements. Responses received will be evaluated; however a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government anticipates an award date on or around 23 Aug. 2013. Response to this synopsis is not required
