Description
DESCRIPTION: The Army Contracting Command - New Jersey and the Office of the Project Manager for Maneuver Ammunition System are seeking sources interested in entering into a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with the U.S. Government on one or more of the following 30mm x 173mm ammunition: -High Explosive Incendiary-Tracer (HEI-T) MK238, Mod 1. A quantity of 2,700 rounds will be required to be submitted. -Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot-Tracer (APFSDS-T) MK258. A quantity of 2,000 rounds will be required to be submitted. -Armor Piercing Fin Stabilized Discarding Sabot-Tracer (APFSDS-T) MK268. A quantity of 2,000 rounds will be required to be submitted. -Target Practice Discarding Sabot-Tracer (TPDS-T) MK317. A quantity of 2,000 rounds will be required to be submitted. The above-mentioned cartridges will be used with the Army Ground Combat Vehicle (GCV) Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV). In exchange for the contractor providing the cartridges at no cost to the Government, the Government will conduct verification testing in accordance with the draft Government performance specification. Each offeror will be provided with the test results of their cartridge. The contractor is responsible for acquiring the appropriate documents for shipment of the cartridges. NOTE 1: Testing will be immediately and permanently suspended in the event that a critical and/or major failure occurs. Offerors can pay to have the remaining ammunition returned to their facility. The information gathered during testing will be used to support future competitive acquisitions. NOTE 2: Future Load Assemble and Pack (LAP) of cartridges qualified under this CRADA along with critical components and parts may be subject to National Technology and Industrial Base (NTIB) restrictions under Section 806 of the Strom Thurmond National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1999. SPECIFICATION: The above-mentioned cartridges shall be compatible with the Bushmaster III weapon system, such as XM813 and/or MK44 Mod 1. The available requirements specifications are as follows: -HEI-T MK238 -APFSDS-T MK258 -APFSDS-T MK268 -TPDS-T MK317 Sources interested in supplying cartridges should adequately describe their experience in medium caliber ammunition productions/testing, demonstrated high rate production, annual production capacity and any existing verification status of their proposed design(s). PLANNED ACQUISITION: The Government is seeking sources interested in entering into a CRADA. SUBMISSION INFORMATION: Sources must be capable of providing the quantity of listed above No Later Than March 31, 2015 to the Aberdeen Testing Center, MD.
