- Description
- TERMS AND CONDITIONS STANDARD FORM 18 (FOR PRICING) STATEMENT OF NEED FOR SUPPLY IMAGES - BASKETS (3 UNACCEPTABLE AND 1 ACCEPTABLE) STATEMENT OF NEED FOR SUPPLY PURPOSE: Vented plastic baskets/containers are an essential component of the sampling equipment the AFSC/FMA Observer Program supplies to its fishery observers. Each gear set issued to a fishery observer has 3 - 5 of these baskets which are used to contain observer equipment during transport to and from their vessels and are used aboard ship to collect and sort their samples. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: Tri-Core Plastics reference no. 11052, model no. H56640, quantity 500, color preference is red The plastic basket/container specifications are as follows: >> Volume 50 litres, >> Basket Weight 2.09 Kgs or 4.63 lbs. >> External dimensions 600 mm L x 400 mm W x 300 mm height or 23.62 in. L x 15.75 in. W x 11.81 in height >> Internal dimensions: 460 mm L x 338 mm W x 272 mm height or 18.11 in. L x 13.31 in. W x 10.71 in height >> The basket is vented (has grids), on sides and bottom. >> Baskets nest and separate easily, this basket also stacks >> It must have hand hold openings that go through to the inside of the container of each short end for ease of handling and weight suspension from 2 points without slipping (thereby tipping out its load on a tilting ship deck). >> The 2 handles must be strong enough to suspend the container (when full) from the handles without breaking. >> The plastic must be strong enough to withstand abrasion and cracking under loads of 100 lbs in a temperature range of -20 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. If the basket is larger, a greater number of back injuries result from use. If the basket is smaller, or not rectangular, it will not hold the equipment observers are required to take. The dimensional ratio of area to depth of the basket is necessary for weighing large specimens without them tipping out. Baskets are handled so much that they have to not have sharp edges and corners - it has to be human friendly like a laundry basket but much stronger. This is different than a lot of warehouse containers on the market. DELIVERABLE SCHEDULE: Date of contract award to April 30, 2014 TECHNICAL POINT OF CONTACT, Phone Number (TOC): Karen Teig 206-526-4191
