- NASA/GSFC has a requirement for the following: Qty (1) Pyroprobe 5200 Pyrolyzer Qty (1) Hydrocarbon cryo-cooler Qty (1) Installation, The specifications and requirement are as follows: A pyrolyzer unit with a built-in trapping system shall be furnished for use with a Gas Chromatograph and or is Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectrometer. The pyrolysis unit shall be compatible with all GC makes and models. The pyrolysis unit shall be designed to include remote start of the GC from the pyrolyzer. The pyrolyzer shall contain new interface zone pneumatics to provide capability to switch between pyrolysis trapping and pyrolysis GC modes. The pyrolyzer shall be a resistively heated element utilizing a coiled platinum filament for variable temperature control. This allows for fast and slow pyrolysis-heating rates that shall be programmable in degrees per millisecond, in degrees per second, and in degrees per minute.The minimal operating specifications are: Heating Rate: adjustable from 0.01C per minute to 20,000C per second. Pyrolysis Temperature: selectable in 1C increments from ambient to 1400C. Steps per Sample: up to eight The built-in trap shall allow the user to pyrolyze in a reactant atmosphere, such as air, trap the pyrolyzed components and then desorb them in the GC for analysis. The trap can also be used to do slow evolved gas studies on samples and be used as a thermal desorption chamber. Trap Temperature: ambient to 350C Trap Heating Rate: programmable in 1C/min increments to 60C/min Cryo-Trap Temperature: programmable down to -150C NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from CDS Analytical, Inc pursuant to Far 13.106 for the acquisition of supplies or services determine to be reasonably available from one source. CDS Analytical is the only commercial manufacturer who offers a high temperature pyroprobe with purge and cryo-trap capability. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested organizations may submit their capabilities statement to perform the effort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 2:30 p.m. local time on August 29. Such statements will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an statement which shall be considered by the agency.
