Description
This is a NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT to procure the following service: Repair and Maintenance of the SpectroMax Lab Jr. Optical Emission Spectrometer. The period of performance is 1 year from the date of the award. Service and maintenance will be performed at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. The Government intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price sole source contract (as prescribed in the Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1) to Spectro Analytical Instruments, Inc., 91 McKee Drive, Mahwah, NJ 07430. Spectro Analytical Instruments, Inc. is the sole manufacturer of the equipment in need of repair, and is the only contractor capable of providing the support and maintenance on this proprietary equipment. The associated North America Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 811219 and the Business Size Standard is $19,000,000. Posting date of this requirement is 28 August 2013. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time, 06 September 2013. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government in future procurements. This award is being made by the U.S. Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground Tenant Contracting Division, 6004 Combat Drive, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005-1846.
