- Description
- The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Technology Acquisition Center (TAC), intends to enter into a contract for Multi-Sensory Environment (MSE) training in support of Veterans with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (ADRD) as well as other debilitating mental illnesses that are usually required to reside on a locked unit when they become residents of VA's Community Living Centers. This procurement is for all labor, materials, transportation, and other incidentals necessary to provide on-site, instructor guided education focused on attaining and maintaining the technical skills necessary for competent performance in the Special Care Units/Dementia Care Units, specific for therapists, nurses and nursing assistants at 53VA facilities. The North American Industrial Classification (NAICS) for this effort is 611430 with a corresponding small business size standard of $10M average annual revenue. The resultant 18-month contract will be firm fixed price. A formal source selection process will be utilized and contract award will be based on the best overall (i.e. best value) proposal that is determined to be the most beneficial to the Government. VA intends to release a Request for Proposal on or about August 30, 2013. The estimated date of award for this action is September 30, 2013. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement in response to this notification which shall be considered by the agency.
