Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District, intends to negotiate on a Sole Source basis with Aspen Aerials for the procurement of Aspen Aerials Model A-62 for the inspection of IWW Chesapeake and Delaware Canal high level bridges: Chesapeake City, Summit, SR-1, St. Georges, Reedy Point and Delaware City. The Aspen Aerials model, A-62 is the only Bridge Inspection Unit equipped with all of the following performance capabilities: The ability for booms to rotate off of both sides of the vehicle, Operation within an 8'-6 quote mark lane and ability to travel, with booms deployed, without the use of outrigger type stabilizers, Counterweight that stays within the width of the body when the booms are deployed (this also complies with ANSI 92.8 requirement), Minimum vertical reach on side of bridge of 24' (length of boom No. 2), Equipped with a telescoping 4th boom which provides 14' of vertical height, Equipped with a rotating platform, and CANBUS controls with color monitor at the base control station, which are required for the inspection and maintenance of USACE owned bridges that cross the C&D Canal. Equipment will be ready for pick-up on 29 November 2013. This notice of intent is NOT a Request for Competitive Proposals. No contract award will be made on the basis of this notice. This notice does not constitute a solicitation document. Requests for such documents will not be considered. However, all information received within five (5) days after date of publication of this notice will be considered SOLELY for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement in the future. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not pay for information received. The NAICS Code is 333923 with a Size Standard of 500 employees.
