Description
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY. This is NOT a request for quotation and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract/purchase order. The purpose of this sources sought synopsis is to perform market research in order to gain knowledge of commercial contractors with the potential to provide a product that meets the following requirements of the Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East, MCAS Cherry Point, NC: Remanufacture/Restoration of a 2350 HP Teco-Westinghouse DC Motor for the Helicopter Blade Test Facility, Whirl Tower. This project consists of removal, transportation, remanufacture/restoration, and reinstallation of a 2350 HP Teco-Westinghouse DC motor currently installed in the helicopter blade test facility (whirl tower), Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE), MCAS Cherry Point, NC 28533. The project to remanufacture/restore the 2350 HP DC motor includes the following major tasks: motor removal, transportation between the FRCE and the Contractor's facility, motor remanufacture/restoration, motor reinstallation, and returning the motor to service. Government personnel will have the responsibility to disconnect power and remove all auxiliary equipment and hardware that would interfere with physical removal of the motor, with the exception of the motor foundation bolts. The Contractor shall be responsible for removing the motor foundation bolts and all other aspects of physical removal of the motor, transportation between FRC-E and the Contractor's facility, motor remanufacture/restoration (including parts, labor, and materials), motor placement, reinstallation of the motor foundation bolts, and acceptance testing. The Government will be responsible for reconnecting power and any equipment or hardware required prior to acceptance testing. The Government will be responsible for installing any remaining equipment and hardware required to configure the Whirl Tower for blade testing after completion of acceptance testing. The existing Reliance Electric Co. 12-pulse solid state drive system and the existing armature and field cabling will be reused.
