Description
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, plans to solicit for a construction contract for Maintenance Dredging at Muskegon Harbor, Michigan. The work consists of, but is not limited to, the following: Mobilize dredge to Muskegon Harbor and dredge between the upstream and downstream limits shown on the plans. Deposit the dredged materials onto the shoreline placement site as follows: Beginning at a point 5000 ft. north of the north breakwater measured along the shoreline then extending 2000 ft northerly. The lakeward and landward limits of placement shall be the most landward 12.0 ft. depth contour and the existing shoreline respectively. For materials that are placed lakeward of the 6.0 ft. depth contour, a clear depth of 4.0 ft. from the top of the placed materials to the water surface shall be maintained. Drainage shall be maintained lakeward across the placed materials at all times. The materials shall be placed in such a manner which will not block or interfere with natural or constructed drainage into the lake. During placement the Contractor shall minimize erosion of existing shoreline sediments. If shore ice is present during placement operations, dredged materials shall be placed directly upon the ice within the required limits. Demobilize when dredging work is completed. General Information: This project is set aside for small businesses. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this requirement is 237990. The small business size standard for this requirement is $27.5 million. The estimated cost of construction is between $500,000 and $1,000,000 The solicitation is expected to be available in February 2015. A contract award is expected in March 2015.
