- Document Type: Sources Sought Solicitation Number: N/A Original Responses Date: February 18, 2015 Classification Code: 65 NAICS CODE: 339112 Contracting Office Information: Department of Veterans Affairs Networking Contracting Office 3 10 W. Kingsbridge Road Rm. 9B-16 Bronx NY 10468 Synopsis: Please note that this is NOT a request for quotes or proposals. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA New York Harbor Healthcare System is currently conducting a market survey for qualified firms capable of providing the listed items. The vendor will be responsible for, but not limited to providing the following brand name items: Auto-Locking Carts Objectives The main objectives of this acquisition is to provide state of the art auto locking carts with the goal of providing optimal patient care and provide the anesthesiologist full access to the contents. Auto locking carts provide a level of security with respect to medications, narcotics and other controlled substances, supplies and instruments needed in the OR. Anesthesia carts have been making strides as a mobile alternative to centralized dispensing technology and are a practical solution. Auto locking carts can be wheeled into a surgical room, can provide an anesthesiologist with full access to the contents, and provide security with respect to narcotics and other controlled materials contained in the cart. In addition to a controlled access anesthesia cart, controlled substances will be placed in the cart in an additional lock box that the Anesthesiologist only has access to open. A factory installed Proximity Reader on the cart is sensitive to an authorization code to unlock the compartments in the cart for access. Simply wave the card in front of the reader to open the cart. These proxy cards are individual cards programmed into the carts. If the proxy card is lost, the individual card can be deleted from the cart to insure another level of security. Anesthesia MIT is capable to program these proxy cards and delete lost cards if necessary. Advantages: Lightweight aluminum which will not rust with repeated cleaning Security: Lockable with Proxy card, combination lock and/or key.
