Description

Y- Chessman-Ten Mile Fence Construction on the Helena Ranger District Project Location. The project is located on the Helena Ranger District, Helena National Forest, in Lewis and Clark County, Montana. The Chessman Fence project area is approximately 15 miles southwest of Helena, Montana, and is located within Sections 1, 2, and 12, T8N, R8W. General elevation in the project area is approximately 6300 feet. The elevation of the fence fluctuation is approximately 100 feet.. The Ten Mile Fence project area is approximately 12 miles southwest of Helena, Montana, and is located within Sections 16, 20 and 29, T9N, R5W. General elevation in the project area is approximately 4800 feet. The elevation of the fence fluctuation is approximately 50 feet. Description of Work - The work shall consist of the construction of a new 4-wire (barbed wire) fence and all related appurtenances and fence removal. Do to logging activities in the area, Sections A, B, D, I and J might be postponed or moved to the end of the contract performance period. Other Work covered in Section G is a 5 1/2 acre section with felling, skidding, delimbing, slashing, slash piling, hand piling, decking and slash removal.
