REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) DISCLAIMER This RFI is being issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. All information received in response to this RFI that is marked as proprietary will be handled accordingly. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. This sources sought notice is not a Request for Proposal (RFP). No solicitation is being issued at this time. This notice shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the government to a particular acquisition approach. Any information provided to the Government as a result of this sources sought notice is voluntary. Responses will not be returned. No entitlement to payment or direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of contractor submission of responses or the Government's use of such information. This Sources Sought Notice is for planning purposes only. INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUBMISSION After review of the above information, interested parties may submit a response in an electronic format only (via email) to Chris Andrieu, Contract Specialist, christian.andrieu@va.gov not later than March 4, 2015, 12:00 p.m. CST. Phone calls will not be accepted or returned. Respondents should include as part of their submission: a.Indicate whether or not you can support the procurement requirement based on the items identified in the below synopsis. b.Any questions that you have reference this Request for Information c.Company point of contact telephone number and email address. d.Socioeconomic status/Business Size (Other Than Small Business, Small Business etc.) ? SYNOPSIS OF SCOPE OF WORK FIRE DETECTION (Alarms) and FIRE SUPPRESSION (Sprinklers) Inspection, Maintenance, Monitoring, and Testing for the Veterans Administration Hospital Campus in New Orleans LA The Contractor shall provide all parts, travel, labor and materials necessary to provide annual, semi-annual, and quarterly preventative maintenance (PM) inspections, testing, maintenance, monitoring, repairs, and unlimited emergency services (24 hours, 7 days) on the fire detection (alarms) and fire suppression (sprinkler) systems located on the Veterans Administration hospital campus located at 2410 Canal Street, New Orleans LA 70119. Inspections, maintenance, and testing will commence with the Pan American building on April 1, 2015, with the remaining twelve (12) buildings being phased in as they become available after their original manufacturer warranties expire. The total service space is approximately 1.6 million square feet (13 buildings in total). The fire detection and fire suppression systems are comprised of: oSprinklers (Fire Suppression) oSmoke Detectors (Fire Detection) oSmoke Dampers oPull Stations oTamper Switches oMain Fire Alarm Panel oRemote Fire Alarm Panels oAnnunciator Panels oSpeakers oStrobes oHorn Strobes oWiring and Other Related Equipment The Contractor will be responsible for providing all background paperwork certifying parts installation and/or repairs, calibration, testing of the systems, and certifications of annual, semi-annual, and quarterly inspections. All preventative maintenance work shall be in strict adherence to the recommended manufacture's specifications and standard operating procedures for equipment maintenance.
